Mezzanine Bursary Programme

About

This is an academic merit bursary open to full time second-year or third-year students studying towards Mathematical and Computer Science fields, but may lack necessary resources to complete such studies. Fourth year studies can also be considered if it is still towards an undergraduate degree. This bursary is for the 2024 academic year.

The bursary will cover the following

  • tuition
  • university accommodation
  • textbooks allowance (per semester)
  • subsistence allowance (per month)

We also offer job shadowing and networking opportunities with Mezzanine staff.

The closing date for this opportunity is 31 October 2023.

Require
ments
  • must be a South African citizen by birth
  • must be located in the Western Cape
  • must be 27 years old or younger
  • must be unemployed
  • must have passed Grade 12 with exemption (final grade 12 results may be used as determining factor)
  • must be enrolled for full-time undergraduate studies, at a recognised and accredited South African university, towards a qualification in Mathematical Science or Computer Science
  • must have obtained a minimum of 65% average or higher in first year of tertiary and above
  • must NOT be in possession of any other bursary for the applied for year of study
  • must NOT have a criminal record
  • must have a clear credit record

Step 1

Before you can apply, please ensure that you meet all of the above criteria.

Step 2

Make sure you have all the following required documents on hand:

  • CV
  • Copy of ID (certified)
  • Copy of matric certificate (certified)
  • Academic transcript to date (on a university letterhead and stamped)
  • Motivational letter
  • Proof of registration and/or acceptance for year of study
  • Latest fee statement/quotation for the applied for year of study
  • Proof of household income (latest 3 months payslips of parent(s)/guardian(s) or affidavit stating unemployment)

Step 3

Once applied, we will then carefully assess your application and provide you with feedback as soon as possible. Should we require further information, we will contact you.

Bursaries will be awarded on merit and financial need and in accordance with Mezzanine’s employment equity plan. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Should you not hear from us after 30 days of the closing date you may consider your application unsuccessful.
